and its subsidiaries (“VIP”) collects, uses and protects
the privacy of your personal information under the National Privacy
Principles.
How we collect your personal information?
We generally collect your personal information directly from
you. We collect this information when you contact us in person
or by telephone, contact us in writing (either by post, fax or
email) or log onto our website. We may also collect personal information
from third parties with whom you have had dealings including our
franchisees and our master franchisees, credit report agencies
and public records.
If you are a customer of one of our franchisees or master franchisees,
we collect your personal information when you contact us including
when you contact us and request that services be provided for
you. We also collect your personal information from third parties
including our franchisees and our master franchisees.
What information do we collect about you?
Generally the type of information we collect about you includes
your name, address, and telephone number. We may also collect
other information depending on the circumstances.
If you are a customer the other personal information collected
would generally include information about the services that you
require, any information needed to arrange for the service to
be provided and any information that would enable us to improve
the quality or efficiency of the services provided to you. We
may also contact you after services are provided, to collect information
about the services that were provided to you. In addition we may
collect your bank account or credit card details from you if these
details are required for payment.
Why do we collect information about you?
If you are a customer we collect your personal information so
that we can:
- provide you with the services you request,
- communicate with you in relation to the services you request,
- contact you in the future at a time when you may wish the
services to be provided to you again,
- advise you of any additional goods or services that we, our
franchisees or our master franchisees can provide to you,
- ensure that any goods or services provided to you meet our
requirements,
- determine whether you are satisfied with any goods or services
provided to you and
- process and record any financial transactions arising from
the provision of goods or services to you now or in the future.
If any personal information is not provided then we may be unable
to provide the services requested.
Who do we disclose your information to?
VIP discloses your personal information to members of the VIP
Family and correspondingly each of the members of the VIP Family
discloses your personal information to VIP and other members of
the VIP Family. The VIP Family includes
- VIP,
- related entities of VIP,
- employees and agents including solicitors and accountants
of VIP,
- employees and agents including solicitors and accountants
of related entities of VIP and
- franchisees and master franchisees of VIP and related entities
of VIP.
Obviously, all members of the VIP Family will comply with this
privacy statement.
We may, from time to time, send marketing information to you
which may include special offers, discounts vouchers, information
about new products and so on. If you do not wish to receive this
information please contact us and advise us and we will not send
this information to you.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. Further,
we do not, without your consent, provide your personal information
to third parties so that those third parties can direct market
their goods or services to you. We may however, from time to time,
send you information on behalf of another person or company that
we think may be of interest to you. In this case, VIP (not the
other person or company) will send the information to you. Again,
if do not wish to receive this information, please contact us
and advise us and we will not send this information to you.
We also engage other companies to carry out work for us such
as computer programming or marketing. These companies may have
access to your personal information. These companies are, however,
only permitted to use your personal information for the purpose
of carrying out the work that we have contracted them to do and
for no other purpose.
Finally if the Privacy Act allows us to use or disclose information
in circumstances other than those set out in this privacy statement,
then VIP reserves the right to disclose or use information as
permitted by the Privacy Act.
How do we protect the information we collect
about you?
VIP takes the view that the security of your personal information
is extremely important.
The electronic form of your personal information is stored on
our servers and access to this server is protected by firewalls
and other security measures such as passwords.
In addition, access to both hard copy and electronically stored
personal information is limited by VIP’s assessment of the
level of access required. So, for example, each franchisee will
only have access to the personal information that VIP determines
is necessary for the proper operation of that franchisee’s
franchise business.
How do you access the information that
we have collected about you?
You have full control of your personal information. If you wish
to access any of your personal information you should contact
us in writing (by either post, fax or email) and subject to the
Privacy Act we will provide this personal information to you.
Your personal information will be provided to you within a reasonable
time.
If you wish to change or update any of your personal information
or any of your information is inaccurate please contact us in
writing (by either post, fax or email) and we will amend your
personal information accordingly as soon as possible.
